Storms first developed during the late
afternoon hours on Sunday June 7th over Northern Oklahoma where a dryline
and cold front intersected. As the storms tracked northeast, they
encountered richer moisture and higher instability which allowed them to
increase in intensity. The first round of storms around 7pm produced a
swatch of severe winds. Around midnight a large storm developed over Reno
County that produced significant wind damage in Hutchinson along with Golf
ball size hail. After surveying the damage it was determined that
miroburst winds between 100-120 mph caused the damage across South
Hutchinson. |
